As part of any online business promotion campaign the method of article marketing should be the first considered in my opinion. Article marketing has several useful reasons to make it your first choice. They can be the most cost effect piece of your campaign, they are quick to produce, they show expertise, they promote your product, service, website, and they ad fresh original content to your website or blog.


Cost Effective:
Article marketing is cost effective because if you write them yourself you only have your time invested and even if you use a ghostwriter service you can find them online at very low cost. Once the article is written it cost nothing to ad it to your website or blog, nor does it cost anything to submit to even the most popular and successful article directories online. Which the search engines love by the way.


Quick to Produce:
You can write an original article in a small amount of time and with all the informational resources online or in your local library gathering your facts will not take long either. Once you have gathered your facts and do a quick outline of them you can piece together a 500 to 750 word article in no time at all. Remember that your reader is looking at a computer screen so if you keep your articles in this word count frame it will be much easier to maintain their attention.


Show Your Expertise:
By carefully gathering the most relevant facts about the topic of your article and briefly and precisely explaining those facts you will show your expertise in the subject matter. Remember to not get to technical in your explanation, try to write as if you were talking to a family member or a friend and you are telling them about your topic. Online articles are not part of a novel and they will read better if done in a conversational format.


Promotion:
Whether you are using your article campaign to promote your website, blog, product, or service do not make your article a sales pitch or sales page. Give good useful information and grab your readers attention and help them gain the facts they seek. Your authors box at the end of your article is where you want to make a pitch. If you gave good information in your article your reader will be inclined to use your authors box to see if you have more useful facts at your website. That is where you do your selling, on your site.


Original Content:
This may be the most important information I share with you. With the overwhelming growth of the Internet there is a big effort being done by all the major search engines to exclude duplicate content from their search engines. They have even been known to blacklist websites for it. Now how do you avoid having duplicate content? Easy you write your own articles and do not even use some one else’s article as an example to craft your own. Remember your original articles and your own writing style will set you apart and establish you as an expert in your field, copying some other work will just show you as lazy and dishonest and I know that I do not need to tell you where that will lead your business.


In closing remember that search engines provide free traffic and they love original content in the form of articles and blog posts. That is why they watch the top article directories constantly every day. So if you do not already have an article marketing campaign in place for your business why not start one today and get your share of that free traffic. Do not let yourself be intimidated by this method of promoting your business, and remember articles are quick to produce, they show expertise, they promote your product, service, website, and they ad fresh original content to your website or blog.
